History Know How Puppies Team Swiss Club Tour History
'Sled dogs fascinated me right from the first Minute. What it means, with all its consequences to build alone a race team in central Europe and to bring success is a different story about many speeches and very few a clue have'.
In the early 90's,
Emil and Barbara have been working for the first time with sled dogs while staying in Canada after a climbing trip. During other abroad trips 1993, 95 and 1996, they where spending many months on a farm in Canada with dogs. End of the season puppy Alaska and Naimo were travelling back home, therefore the kennel base was established. In the following years Emil was integrating the dogs into his job as climbing pro. Continuously were trips throughout the entire Alps North America and the Arctic. In 2001, he was the first one to cross the Alps by a dog team, following by Swiss National TV. 2003 after a longer stay with Frank Turner he entered the Yukon Quest 250. After the first Yukon Quest, although he scratched, the future for him was clear. Only since then Emil thought in racing sled dogs. This decision changed life from a mountain sport professional to a dog musher. In the last few Years, Emil and Barbara has logged more than 25,000 miles on a dog sled in the Alps. In the summer 2009 the Swiss musher couple moved with kids and dogs to Norway.
