In the UN Year of Mountains 2002, Graubünden is drawing attention to its Alpine capital with a spectacular event:
THE PROJECT
As part of the Graubünden3000 project, outdoor adventurer Emil Inauen will be climbing all 460 of the canton's peaks higher than 3000 metres nonstop!
Graubünden holidays, as the main partner in the undertaking, is using this special sporting feat in some very different areas throughout the year, to highlight the complex significance of the Graubünden Alps.
THE IDEA
To do things higher, faster, deeper, longer - if possible all at once. To accomplish feats which appear unusual, incredible or downright impossible. Some challanges captivate people and obsess them until they can finally be realised.
Emil Inauen has been pursuing one such idea for a long time already. Plans for the project have now been under way since last May. His dream is to climb all 460-mountain peaks of the canton Graubünden. Emil hopes to conquer an incredible total of 460 peaks in just one season or about 150 mountain days.
Countless ascents, climbing routes, ridges and glaciers will try the team to the utmost in every variety of modern mountain sport.
