Mountain 04 - This summer Emil Inauen keeps on going with climbing the local mountains. After coming back from the Yukon Quest, last May, he ascents more of the summits with 3000 meter altitude.

2004-03-21 - While the UNO has moved on long ago, Emil keeps working on reaching his goal of being the first one ascending all of the 460 mountains in the Grisons with altitudes in the 3000 meters range.

?The mountains are my life? a Swiss magazine (Schweizer Illustrierte) quotes him last fall while documenting his 359 ascends.

Retrospective: THE YEAR OF THE MOUNTAINS
In the international year of the mountains 2002 (UNO) Emil has launched a one of a kind ?Climbing Marathon?. The native of ?Appenzell? calls his project Grison 3000. Together with his companion, Walter von Ballmoos, he attempts to climb 460 mountains.

Weather-wise the worst season for the last twenty years and an accident on the north face of ?Piz Linard?, on the 14th of September, made it impossible to reach the goal within one season. Only with a lot of luck Emil survived that accident.

However, he wants to go on.
On the 13th of November, facing the worst weather conditions, Emil, his partner and the photographer and film-maker Robert Boesch are standing on ?Piz Kesch,? their 230tiest summit.

In as little as 96 days, they brought more than 460,000 altitude meters behind them, reaching a record beyond compare.

But Emil?s goal is clear!
